screen shot

Seems like I used to be able to capture only parts of the screen by selecting a region.

Has that functionality been removed?

This is not working in the current version of the software. When you press the screen shot hotkey it takes a silent capture of the screen and you get no region selecting tool on screen.

Hello

Most likely, another application already uses the "PrtSc" key as a global hotkey to take a screenshot. In this case, the ClipClip app cannot register the "PrtSc" key as a global hotkey for the "Take a screenshot" feature.
To solve this issue, go to the Configuration window to assign another key or key combination for this feature:
- Open the "Hotkeys" tab;
- Insert the mouse pointer in the text field of the "Take a screenshot" option;
- Press some key combination - for example, CTRL+SHIFT+PrtSc.
- Click the "Save" button to save new settings - during this, the ClipClip is trying to register a new key combination.

As a result, when you press the CTRL+SHIFT+PrtSc key combination, a captured screenshot will be displayed to select an area on it.

Hi, Vitzo team.

The CTRL+SHIFT+PRTSCR combination doesn't work anymore. Any clues on how to make the magnifying glass and selection work again?
Thanks
Rui

Hello,

The CTRL+SHIFT+PrtSc is just the default key combination to run the "Take a screenshot" feature.
To work properly, these hotkeys should be registered in the ClipClip app during its launch.
If they were not registered for some reason, for example, they are already registered by another application, you can change them in the Configuration window on the "Hotkeys" tab.
To do this:
- Open the Configuration window on the "Hotkeys" tab;
- Enable (check) the "Take a screenshot" option to allow the creation of screenshots using the hotkeys;
- Insert that mouse pointer in the text field of this option;
- Press some key combination you want to use for this option;
- Click the "Save" button to save new settings.
After that, you press new hotkeys to capture the screenshot.
NOTE: The "Enable screenshots" command must be checked in the main menu:
Main menu => Options => "Enable screenshots"

We hope this information will be useful for you.

Hi, Vitzo team, thanks for the reply.

I followed the instructions with care and, although it takes a screenshot, it doesn't work like before when it showed the magnifying glass and let me choose the screen portion I wanted.
So, just to make myself clear: it wonce worked, but do not work anymore. This is what people here are saying in this thread.

Cheers!

The CTRL+SHIFT+PRTSC no longer works, you do not get the region selector it just silently takes a screen shot of the whole screen. In an older version it does work.

Hello

Yes, for the "Take a screenshot" feature are used other hotkeys by default.
In any case, you can set the "CTRL+SHIFT+PRTSC" (or any other) key combination manually for this feature (or for any other feature).
To do this:
- Open the Configuration window on the "Hotkeys" tab.
- Insert the mouse cursor into the text field of the "Take a screenshot" feature.
- Press "CTRL+SHIFT+PRTSC" (or any other) key combination on the keyboard.
- Click the "Save" button to save new changes.
As a result, you can use the newly created key combination for this feature.

But how do you select a region of the screen?

Y

Hello

Please follow these steps:
- Press "CTRL+SHIFT+PRTSC" key combination (check it in the Configuration window on the Hotkeys tab);
- When the screenshot has been captured (dark window with magnifier is shown), press the left mouse button to start a selection of any area on this screenshot;
- Move the mouse with pressed left button;
- Release the left mouse button to create a clip from the selected area;
NOTE: Here is a GIF image that demonstrates how to do this:
